It’s not often you meet a media professional who reaches the upper echelons of the radio, print, television and social media industries combined, and does so in a man’s world. Well now you have.

With more than 15 years experience to her credit in radio, print, television and social media, Filippa Guarna is one of Australia’s most successful and experienced media professionals specialising in the motorsport and motoring industries. A graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School, Filippa started began her career with Southern Crosss Austereo  and WIN Television as a rated radio announcer, breakfast host, roving reporter, panel operator and voice-over artist.

However, being a “revhead” since birth, Filippa couldn’t refuse the opportunity to transition into print media to tackle all things on four wheels as a published journalist and feature writer for renowned publications and content providers such as Auto Action MagazineV8X MagazineBigPond SportMOTOR and Street Machine Commodores

With her extensive contacts and knowledge-base of the V8 Supercars Championship and Australian support categories, Filippa expanded into television in 2007 as a freelance on-camera host and reporter, before taking the role of Associate Producer of the V8 Supercars Championship on the Seven Network from 2009-2012. Filippa was part of the Logie-winning team for the Most Outstanding Sports Coverage for the Bathurst 1000 broadcast in 2010 and helped create more than 600 hours of live and post-produced television programming in just three and a half years – including several contracts to freelance segment produce Seven’s tennis coverage.

With a passion for producing, filming and editing, in early 2012 Filippa chose to challenge the social media world within V8 Supercars, becoming the Social Media Manager for the Holden Racing Team and Holden Special Vehicles. Encouraging more than 60,000 YouTube views of her online video production within a short nine months, signalled that the time was right for Filippa to take her expertise into her own business for 2013.

A CAMS racing license holder, this year also sees Filippa join the Women of Australian Motor Sport (WAMS) Committee –  an initiative of the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) – to help encourage and promote women’s successes in the motorsport industry.
